States of Matter Comic Strips

We made these comic strips to explain how the particles move during the different states of matter. This was an easy center activity!

Power of a Dream wheels

This is what I did for Black History Month. The theme was obviously "The Power of a Dream", and so we made dream wheels. The kids researched a famous Black American, wrote down 2 facts about their early life, greatest accomplishment(s), and fun facts. Then in the last quadrant they had to write how this person impacted America. We used paper plates to measure the circles, so both circles were the same size. The hardest part was putting the brad in to make it spin. I couldn't believe that my students hadn't used these and didn't know what to do with them. I find that sad, considering I probably went through 100 in elementary school growing up.

Angry Birds Activity

This is my pride and joy. Angry Adverbs. I found the coloring sheets by doing an internet search. The kids colored them and printed them out. Not much else to do said about this, except I really hope Angry Birds are still cool next year. I might have them build a game using all the parts of speech.

Writing

So, I gave these to my students for the Writing Test. I thought this was cute...and then they started to break. Luckily, nothing got on the Test booklets. :)

My First Post

Every week when I'm doing lesson plans, I always look back on what I did last year at the same time (Am I the only one that does that?). When I look through the plans, I always think...Well, that sounds great, but what exactly did I do?

I'm hoping this blog will be my cure for the "what exactly did I do?" moments. I'll take pictures of whatever it is I've done with how I did it. Short, sweet, and to the point.

Of course, this will be difficult until I get to February/March of next year, but I'll do my best to keep up with this.

Enjoy,
K
