Power of a Dream wheels

This is what I did for Black History Month. The theme was obviously "The Power of a Dream", and so we made dream wheels. The kids researched a famous Black American, wrote down 2 facts about their early life, greatest accomplishment(s), and fun facts. Then in the last quadrant they had to write how this person impacted America. We used paper plates to measure the circles, so both circles were the same size. The hardest part was putting the brad in to make it spin. I couldn't believe that my students hadn't used these and didn't know what to do with them. I find that sad, considering I probably went through 100 in elementary school growing up.
